About the PirateCard

The PirateCard is the official Armstrong Atlantic State University Student or Faculty/Staff ID card. Everyone is required to carry your PirateCard at all times while on campus.

It is used to access the PirateCard accounts and Meal Plan once an account has been established.

Accounts for the required participation meal plan will already be established and funds will be available first day on-campus dining services opens. The PirateCard is also used to check out books in the Lane Library, gain access to the Student Recreation Center and certain labs, Athletic events, vending, laundry, print services and fine arts and Campus Union Board programs.

Pirate Card Office Hours: Mon-Thurs. 9:00 am - 6:00 pm and Fri 8:15 am - 5:00 pm. Memorial College Center, 2nd floor.

Identification and Use:

The PirateCard is for cardholders's personal use only and is non-transferable. Only the cardholder may present the PirateCard for purchases and other privileges. The PirateCard will be confiscated if presented by someone other than the cardholder or if the card is involved in inappropriate or illegal use. Fraudulent use of the card will result in disciplinary action or penalties.

The PirateCard may be obtained at the PirateCard Office, Memorial College Center, 2nd floor. A government photo ID, such as a driver's license or passport and AASU 907 number must be presented upon issuance of the PirateCard.

Taking Your Picture:

  • Full face, front view
  • Taken in normal street attire
  • May wear Religious attire that is worn daily
  • Do not wear a hat or headgear that obscures the hair or hairline
  • If you normally wear prescription sunglasses, a hearing device, wig or similar articles, they should be worn for your photo
  • Dark glasses or non-prescription glasses with tinted lenses are not acceptable unless you need them for medical reasons

Opening an Account

Students must come to the PirateCard Office to open an account and to receive a PirateCard and activate their account. Accounts cannot be opened online. There are NO charges for using your card to make purchases on campus. The PirateCard Office is located in the Memorial College Center, 2nd. Floor, Room 214. Cardholders may add money to an account anytime throughout the year online using a credit card (MasterCard, American Express or Visa), at the Pirate Express terminal located in Lane Library, or at the Bursar Office in Burnett Hall.

Types of Accounts on the Pirate Card available for Students:

Pirate Cash:

(Available to all users. These funds rollover from semester to semester) A general cash fund available to all PirateCard users. It can be used anywhere the PirateCard is accepted. This includes Bookstore purchases, dining facilities, vending machines, purchases at the Sports Center during games, laundry services in Compass Point Clubhouse, and printing.

Bookstore Bucks:

(Available to all users. These funds rollover from semester to semester) Can only be used for purchases in the Armstrong Bookstore.

Dining Dollars:

(Available to all users. These funds rollover from semester to semester) This account is setup to allow students to have additional funds to be used in the dining facilities. Can be used by residence hall students in addition to their Meal Plan, or can be added by any user who does not have a Meal Plan. Can only be used for food purchases in the Food Court, Coffee Shop, and Quiznos.

Laundry Dollars:

(Only available to students living in on-campus housing. These funds rollover from semester to semester.) Can only be used in the Compass Point Laundry Rooms.

Meal Plan:

(Only available to students living in on-campus housing. Funds rollover from Summer to Fall to Spring semester. All funds must be used before the last examination of the Spring semester of each year. Any remaining funds are non-refundable.)
This account is contractual and setup through the housing office. Any changes must be made through the Housing Office. Can only be used for food purchases in the Food Court, Coffee Shop, and Quiznos.
