How do I find out about events on campus?

Armstrong has a wide variety of events every month that are open to students, faculty, and staff. There are many sources of information on campus events. The best sources are the Inkwell Student Newspaper, On The Wall publication, and the on-line calendar. You can also find information on flyers, at scheduled lunch events or informational sessions, and through the Office of Student Activities.


What types of clubs/organizations are available to me and how do I get involved with them?

AASU has a wide variety of clubs and organizations for students to get involved in on both the local and national level. There are clubs/organizations that deal with your major, social interests, ethnicity, religion, etc. See the complete listing of clubs and organizations at clubs/organizations. If student government interests you, check out the opportunities at SGA. Whatever your interests, there is sure to be a club or organization waiting for you.


Is there a fitness center or gym where I can exercise?

The Student Recreation Center (SRC) is a 38,000 sq.-ft. facility designed solely to meet the health and fitness needs of the student body. The SRC houses an indoor cycling room, a multi-purpose group exercise room, 2 basketball/volleyball courts, a 5,200 sq. ft. fitness center and locker rooms. A current student ID is required for entry. Contact the Student Recreation Center at 344-3136 for more information and current hours.

The Office of Campus Recreation and Wellness also offers a variety of health/fitness incentive programs and other special events.


Are there intramural programs on campus, and if so, where can I get information?

The Office of Campus Recreation and Wellness offers a wide variety of Intramural sports in the form of structured leagues and one day tournaments, including flag football, dodgeball, basketball, and soccer. If you can’t find enough players to form a team, you can sign up as a “Free Agent.” The Student Recreation Center also offers informal recreation times for open recreation, such as pick-up basketball and volleyball.
