How do I know which credits transferred and which did not?

The Transfer Equivalency Worksheet you receive will list the courses taken at your former institution and the AASU equivalent, if applicable. A transfer course without an AASU equivalent will be listed as elective hours. Questions concerning this evaluation should be directed to your academic department.

How do I know what classes to take to satisfy my degree requirements?

Contact your major department for advisement and to complete a program of study for your degree objective. Undeclared majors should make an appointment in the Office of Academic Orientation & Advisement, Solms Hall 212, 912.344.2570.

What if a course is listed as an elective and I think it should count for a specific course?

AASU accepts transfer credit from regionally accredited institutions. If a course does not appear to be equivalent to an AASU course, it wil be brought in as an elective. If a course appears as an elective and you feel it is an AASU equivalent, you can do one of two things. You can either take the transfer worksheet and course descriptions to the Registrar's Office for review, or you can take the same information to the department which houses the course in question and ask the department head to discuss the possibility of an equivalency.
