Graduating with Honors

Honors are awarded according to the overall GPA at graduation. All requirements must be met for graduation in order to be eligible. Honors designations and GPA requirements are listed below:
  • Cum Laude - Students graduating with a grade point average of 3.2 - 3.4
  • Magna Cum Laude - Students graduating with a grade point average of 3.5 - 3.7.
  • Summa Cum Laude - Students graduating with a grade point average of 3.8 - 4.0
Students who are pursuing a second baccalaureate degree at AASU or who have been granted academic renewal must request an "honors evaluation" to be considered.

A student graduating in one of the honors categories will be recongnized by their Dean as they process across stage. No honors cords are gived by the University.

Some organizations such as honor societies, greek-letter organizations and the Honors program MAY present Recognition Cords or Stoles to wear at the ceremony. Students must be a member of these organizations in order to receive cords or stoles.
