Frequently Asked Questions

Can I just walk in or do I need an appointment?

The system works best if you schedule an appointment. You can walk in for a visit, but when you do you will be given an appointment time to be seen. Sometimes it might be possible to be seen before your appointment time if you are waiting and someone else fails to keep their appointment, but as a general rule, this is not a good idea.

Can I be seen during lunch or after hours?

The UHC does not schedule appointments during the lunch break (12:30 to 1:30). The UHC closes at 5:00 pm. Students may be seen at Urgent One across from Target at Savannah Mall or the nearest emergency department.

How long will my appointment take?

The length of time it takes to complete visit varies depending on the reason for the visit. While more appointment lengths are 15 minutes, you must add the time it takes to check-in, fill out appropriate paperwork and do other tasks related to the visit, such as lab test, patient education or medication explanations.
