ON-CAMPUS INTERVIEWING & RECRUITMENT POLICY
To request to interview on-campus, log-in to the Events section of CareerWeb. Your are invited to interview and recruit on-campus for your employment, internship and Co-op needs during the fall and spring semesters. Simply contact Career Services by phone (912)344-2563 or by e-mail at careers@armstrong.edu, to schedule your recruitment date. If you would like to schedule on-campus interviews, fill out the "Interview Request Form" above. We will publicize your visit and encourage students to submit resumes. Career Services will then schedule interviews on the requested date. Employers who are hiring candidates for bona fide jobs or internships may interview through AASU Career Services. A bona fide job is defined as a professional position which is salaried (not 100% commission) and does not require the candidate to pay a fee for training, equipment, application procedures or other job-related expenses (this does not apply to federal and state licensing requirements such as real estate, securities, etc.). A draw against future earnings does not consitute a salary. A bona fide internship opportunity is one where the student works on a project of importance to the organization, recieves timely instructions and feedback from the supervisor. and has a mentor-like relationship with someone in the organization who can teach about the organization, in particular, and the industry as a whole. Cooperative education is a method of education allowing students to gain real world experience work and receive a college degree. Students can either alternate between school and employment or they may work part-time and attend school part-time on a scheduled basis. Students who graduate from GA Tech may receive a special insignia on their diploma for completing at least 3 Co-op rotations. Employers may only recruit on-campus for existing job vacancies or those which will exist by the time a candidate is available for employment with your organization. On-campus interviews must be directly scheduled and conducted by the organization's employees, rather than by third party representatives. Employers who recruit at Armstrong Atlantic State University must adhere to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) guidelines and the National Association of Colleges and Employers Principles for Employment Professionals. |
