The Office of Career Services is a tremendous resource for students and
alumni to learn about their interests, skills, abilities, values, and
personality in an effort to provide strategic career direction.
Professional development and job search processes are available to help
students and alumni make the transition from student to professionals in
the world of work. Classroom presentations and individualized
appointments are offered on Interviewing, Choosing a Degree Major,
Career Direction for Liberal Studies Majors, Resume and Cover Letter
Writing, Making the Most of a Career Fair, Professional Etiquette, and
Applying to Graduate School.
Students and alumni are encouraged to research career opportunities
through three internet based libraries of occupations (GCIS) Georgia
Career and Information Systems, the Georgia Department of Labor’s
Bureau of Labor Statistics, and the (O*NET ) Occupational Information Network.
The Office maintains a database of over 800 employers and sponsor and
co-sponsor a total of 4 career fairs each year locally and in the
Atlanta area. The Experiential Education Program enables students to
work in their desired field and gain relevant work experience through
co-ops, internships, and job shadowing experiences which are highly
recommended for all students. We provide professional and
non-professional job search assistance and post numerous opportunities
for students to find co-ops, internships, part-time, full-time, summer,
seasonal, and temporary employment. All students and alumni are
strongly encouraged to register with the career center.
