Independent Study

Independent, or "correspondence," study is individual instruction by mail, internet, and/or distance learning.  Study opportunities are free of time and place constraints that are typical of most other forms of instruction.  The University System of Georgia Independent Study Catalog and a directory of programs and courses offered nationwide are available in Student Affairs, Room 211, Memorial College Center.

If you want an independent study course to apply to an academic program of study, you must be certain that it meets the requirements of the institution from which you will earn your degree. Students enrolled at AASU must have approval of the Department Head in their area of study.

Independent study courses usually require one or two examinations.  It is possible to arrange for supervision of an exam at Armstrong Atlantic State University in Student Affairs.  Please plan ahead to take advantage of the Independent Study Examinations. Telephone 912-344-2582 to schedule your test.

Independent Student Exam are offered every Thursday at 1:00 pm.
